All of hot tubs use a dedicated heater that works like a kettle to heat the water flowing through it. The water is passed over the heating element when the pump is on low power and the hot tub not at the temperature, this is set on the control pannel.
Hot tubs usally utilise a 2kw or 3KW heater to enable them to be wired into a standard household cicuit.
